Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned Director III, Student Programs, plan, organize, control and direct the educational operations, activities and services of Court Schools at assigned sites; coordinate and direct communications, information, personnel and budgets to meet student education needs and assure smooth and efficient program and site activities; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. Education programs are conducted within a variety of instructional settings and are designed to meet the needs of an itinerant population, with open-entry and exit, through large group, small groups, and independent study. All programs serve resident adult inmates awaiting a hearing or serving a sentence. The Contra Costa County Office of Education is committed to creating an accessible, supportive environment and an educational experience that recognizes diversity and cultural competence as integral components of academic excellence. This position will supervise all three detention facilities; Richmond, Clayton and Martinez locations.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: • Any combination equivalent to: master's degree in education or related field • Five (5) years teaching experience including work with the adult population or related programs • Valid California Administrative Services Credential • Valid California Driver’s License • Must be able to pass and maintain security clearance at detention facilities. This position will supervise all three detention facilities; Richmond, Clayton and Martinez locations.
