Requirements / Qualifications

The teacher in this position will be working with students in grades 9th - 12th at our Heritage High School COE satellite School campus in Brentwood. The teacher in this position will require intensive behavior management. The applicant must posses OR qualify for the following: • Valid California Teaching Credential; or eligibility to be granted a credential or permit authorizing teaching students with Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe) in a Special Education setting; English Learner Authorization. • Bachelor’s degree. • Master’s degree in Special Education, preferred. • Two (2) years teaching in a classroom serving students with extensive support needs, preferred. • Valid California’s driver’s license. Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Teacher, Special Education, Extensive Support Needs, serves as a member of the Individual Education Program (IEP) team to support the identification, intervention, and education of students with extensive support needs; provides an instructional program for students in classroom and community-based settings designed to offer students opportunities to participate more fully in home, school and community life; serves as the case manager for assigned students; and provides consultation and training to instructional staff and parents.
