SUMMARY

A Classroom Teacher helps students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible adults.

ESSENTIAL TYPES OF DUTIES (Examples)

  • Seeks to reach District standards as established in the designated curricular areas as adopted by the Governing Board and how they relate to all pupils for which the teacher is directly responsible.
  • Performs co-curricular and/or adjunct duties as assigned by the Governing Board, Superintendent and/or other designated persons.
  • Maintains proper disciplinary control of pupils which are directly assigned and secondarily maintains proper control of all pupils in the Clay Joint Elementary School District.  Teachers shall enforce all rules governing the conduct of pupils, as such rules may be prescribed by the Education Code, Title 5, The Governing Board, and the District and school administrator(s).
  • Provides a suitable learning environment for the academic and social development of all students within the guidance as established by the Governing Board, Superintendent, and designated administrator, adhering to the concept that the safety and welfare of our students is paramount at all times.

QUALIFICIATIONS:

Must possess or be eligible for appropriate CA classroom credential(s).

District maximum payment is $1300 per employee whose contract is more than 70% per month. Does not include stipends. We are looking for an individual who will contribute to the overall program at Clay through leadership and involvement in our campus community. Opportunities for leadership will include coaching Jr. High boy's sports, planning the class trip and graduation, and possible entry-level administrative responsibilities.
