Vista del Mar Union School District, established in 1923, is a single-school district located in the unincorporated area of Gaviota, approximately 30 miles north of Santa Barbara on the central coast of California. The District Office and its TK-8 school, Vista de Las Cruces, are surrounded by foothills covered with twisting sycamore and oak trees and coastal sage. The school and its surrounding communities incorporate the rich history of Vista and its one-of-a-kind setting into its curriculum, providing a warm atmosphere, small class sizes, and a creative educational experience for each of its students.
