Accelerate Center is currently seeking Paraprofessionals to fill part time and full time positions in the school setting, providing educational and behavioral support to students with special needs.

Based in the Bay Area, Accelerate Center is comprised of a team of dedicated and enthusiastic professionals that have come together to deliver services as an integrative therapies collaborative that provide services in: Educational Therapy, instructional/behavioral support (Paraprofessionals), educationally related Mental Health/Psychological Services,  Speech Therapy,  Occupational Therapy, Behavioral Therapy/ ABA treatment, , and other educationally related services to children with special needs. 

Qualified individuals should have minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with children with special needs.  The candidate also needs to be versatile, caring, have good communication skills, be punctual, consistent, self-motivated, and organized. Also, the candidate must have knowledge of how to be a collaborative IEP team member and know how to support programs for educationally related IEP goals, so our students can thrive (see detailed list of Qualifications below)!

Qualifications:

- 1 to 3 years of experience working with developmentally delayed children.

- Oral and writing skills necessary for documentation and communication with school staff members, special education team, family members and children

- Positive outlook, enthusiasm, self-motivated, and high energy

- Ability to work individually and also function as a part of a team

- Interest in continually increasing knowledge and professional growth

- Interest in collaborating with the therapeutic team and developing skill set

- Knowledge in Applied Behavior Analysis (preferred)

- Knowledge in Executive Functioning (preferred)

- Knowledge in working with mild/moderate or moderate/severe students

- Knowledge in Crisis Prevention Intervention (preferred)

- Experience in working in a full-inclusion model (preferred)

- Letter of Interest - Resume - Letters of Recommendation (three within the past year) - High School Diploma/A.A. degree/B.A/B.S. - College transcripts and/or Paraprofessional Certification - Valid CA driver's license - Proof of auto insurance - DOJ & FBI fingerprint clearance - TB screening results

Requirements: - High school diploma or the equivalent, and two years of college (48 units) OR - A. A. degree (or higher) OR - Proof of passing of local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction (paraprofessional)
