One: One Aide (Non-Profit Non-Public Day School) The Almansor Center, under The Institute for the Redesign of Learning, provides basic education and related services to children with learning, language, developmental, behavioral and emotional needs. Our Day School Program recognizes that each child is a unique and dynamic human being. By empowering each person to Take Charge ™ of his or her own learning process, Almansor's education and training programs have successfully restored the capacity of thousands of children, adults, caregivers and educators to become competent, caring, and contributing members of society. Description: We are currently seeking 2 full-time One: One Aides for a high school and elementary student in our South Pasadena Non-Public Day School. The salary for this position starts at $10.50 to $12.16, depending on education and experience. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm. Aides are responsible for one-to-one instructional and behavioral support to the student, as determined by the Master Teacher and the student’s Individual Educational Program (I.E.P.); implementing behavior management techniques, and providing on-going feedback to the student. This person will also provide direct supervision to students at all times in the classroom, on-campus, and in the community, as well as support the Teacher Specialist in evaluating on-going goals, objectives, materials, and methods to make necessary revisions. This person will establish relationships among students, staff, parents, and the community to promote respect and partnership. Additionally, this person will participate in activities, meetings, and assist in bus loading and unloading. Requirements: • Must hold an A.A. degree or passed the CBEST or have 48 units towards a Bachelors degree • Must be able to participate and complete Professional Assault Response (PART) Training • Must be willing to complete a mandatory 10-week graduate level training program • Experience in special education is highly desirable. The hours for this position are 8am to 2:30pm. This position may require aides to accompany students on the bus for up to 5 days per week either AM or PM routes for an additional 2 hours per day.

Requirements: -must have a minimum of 48 college units or pass proficiency exam administered on site -Some experience in special education is desirable but not necessary -Will be required to take our CPI (Crisis Intervention) training course in addition to a mandatory 10 week graduate level training program -Willingness to work with students who have aggressive behaviors -Willingness to work with students who need bathroom/hygiene support Growth: Westmoreland Academy has an exceptional track record of mentoring classroom aides into teaching assistants and teaching positions.
