BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST

IS PREPARED TO:
- Be a key leader for the district-wide IBI program serving students in preschool through adult transition
- Effectively utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) theory and methods to further develop successful IBI programs
- Coordinate, schedule, and maintain all behavioral intervention services for students served by IBI
- Serve as an Autism expert for the District and the development of appropriate behavioral intervention programs to meet student needs
- Train District employees and parents in positive behavior intervention supports for school and home programs
- Collaboratively consult with District employees, outside agencies, and parents on IBI program components and individual student needs
- Comprehensively assess behavioral needs and develop effective intervention plans as a member of the student’s IEP team
- Provide and support overall program supervision for students receiving IBI services
- Consult with teachers, psychologists, and paraprofessionals in the use of behavior interventions
- Provide technical support and training in applied behavior analysis to classroom teacher and staff
- Participate in the IEP process as a member of the IEP team
- In collaboration with the School Psychologist to address behavior functional analysis assessments and functional behavior assessments
- Assists in preparing trainings and in-service presentations
- Participate in professional growth activities such as conferences, classes, staff meetings and program visitations.
Requirements:
- An earned Master’s Degree
- Prefer: BCBA certified or BCBA eligible; BICM experience highly desired
Salary and Work Year:
- Specialist/Non-Administrative Salary Schedule $81,867 to $94,855
- Assignment length – 200 duty days
