The Conservatory of Vocal/Instrumental Arts (COVA) is a public charter school with a focus on the performing arts.  COVA has very high standards in a structured environment.  Our classroom management is based on the book "Teach Like a Champion" by Doug Lamov.  The 5/6 GATE class is a cluster of high performing students.  The GATE teacher is responsible for teaching all of the State/CORE standards at the highest level, and also extending the curriculum to meet the needs of high performing students.  This position requires previous teaching experience at a 5/6 grade level, some experience in teaching gifted students, and a background in one of the performing arts.  Only candidates who list extracurricular subjects they can teach in the performing arts will be considered for interview.
