Career Systems Development Corporation (CSDC) is looking for talented Educators to complete a rigorous training program leading to a career as a Center Director for a Job Corps Center. Job Corps is a free education and training program that helps young people learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED, and find and keep a good job. For eligible youth at least 16 years of age, Job Corps provides the all-around skills needed to succeed in a career and in life. www.jobcorps.gov When trained here is what you will be doing: OVERVIEW: Plans, organizes, administers, and controls the programs and activities necessary to effectively operate and meet the objectives of a Job Corps training center. These objectives are to prepare young, disadvantaged youth for useful employment by providing comprehensive residential training, educational and vocational training, and positive paths through personal example, understanding, and patience by a combined effort of all staff. The Center Director is responsible for administering a contract negotiated with the Department of Labor. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling, mentoring and monitoring excellence in the eight Career Success Standards of: 1.workplace relationships and ethics; 2.information management; 3.communications; 4.multicultural awareness; 5.personal growth and development; 6.career and personal planning, and; 7.interpersonal skills; 8.independent living. MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: 1.Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles. 2.Responsible for the overall administration of an efficient and effective student training program. 3.Responsible for center meeting established goals and objectives and maintaining 100% OBS. 4.Surveys community support and discovers leadership structures and organizations. 5.Builds a continuing relationship with community leaders and social, religious, civic and service organizations. Serves on state and local workforce investment boards and youth councils. 6.Fosters an atmosphere that will encourage high employee morale and result in the highest standards of performance and staff retention. 7.Conducts regular staff meetings. 8.Plans and prepares budgets to provide for current and projected activities. 9.Provides necessary reports for the Department of Labor and corporate headquarters. 10.Keeps the President, Job Corps Operations informed on all matters sufficient to warrant attention. 11.Insures that departmental reviews are conducted on a regular basis. 12.Responsible for ensuring that equal employment and affirmative action goals and objectives are met. 13.Responsible for the safe operation of the center and also the safety of the students. 14.Prepares and conducts performance evaluations. 15.Approves all Human Resources transactions, e.g. merits, new hires, etc. 16.Insures that the organization’s Core Values are practiced and modeled by staff and students. 17.Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree. Five years’ experience in program management and direction in Job Corps or similar training program. Must have experience working with youth. Model company Core Values Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with the program’s targeted population is highly desirable.
