Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of lesson plans; provide routine clerical support.

All applicants must pass the basic skills test before being considered for an interview. The test will take approximately 1 hour. A Spanish bilingual skills test will also be given. Please allow an additional hour (1) for this test. **The basic skills test will be waived for those applicants who have taken and passed all portions of the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST). Please provide a copy of the CBEST card when submitting an application for the position. Applicants must notify the Office of Human Resources in writing of the type of accommodations being requested at the time of filing the application. Education and Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school, plus complete two years of study at an institution of higher education (college level) or forty-eight (48) semester units, including a math and an English class with a passing grade of ‘C’ or higher or obtain an Associate’s degree or higher*; good general background and work experience, including one year of paid or volunteer experience working with school-age children desired.
