Job Summary

Job Summary

General Administration A. Monitor and ensure the implementation of quality programs and services specified on individual education plans, monitor and oversee individual student 504 plans. B. Monitor and ensure compliance with State and Federal programs. C. Provide leadership for special education instructional programs and staff in-service programs. D. Coordinate the planning and implementation of professional development in collaboration with the general education for administrators, teachers and classified employees in the following areas: access to the general curriculum standards, modifications and adaptations of curriculum, acceptable accommodations for standardized testing and alternative assessments. E. Represent the district in all County and district IEP placements for special education, and special education due process hearings. F. Attend all board meetings to present required information and related reports as necessary. G. Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff. H. Communicate with other administrators, district personnel to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information. I. Develop an ongoing evaluation procedure for all special education programs. J. Assist in directing, planning and coordinating Extended School Year Special Education programs. K. Performs other duties as assigned. Communications Communicate the District's goals, procedures and objectives, explains and interprets decisions of the Board of Trustees and the district administration by observing organizational channels of communication and being mindful of the needs of staff and community for accurate and timely information.

Requirements / Qualifications

School Psychologist, Speech Pathologist, or Special Education Credential Five years’ experience in a special education setting Master’s degree in Elementary Education, Special Education or related field. Possession of a valid CA Administrative Credential
