Job Summary

Under the direction of the site principals, the elementary school counselor will implement a comprehensive school-counseling program that provides behavioral, educational, and social emotional counseling to individuals and small groups of students; supports students and parents. Works with teachers to identify and address students at risk or in crisis and will be the main point of contact for these issues; serves as a resource pertaining to student behavior management strategies, and welfare and attendance problems and concerns; promotes equity and access to opportunities and rigorous educational experiences for all students, serves as a liaison between teacher, parents, and students. Shoreline USD offers small counseling ratios, a variety of resources, and support for professional development. Successful candidates will be creative problem solvers and effective communicators.

Possession of a valid services credential with a specialization in pupil personnel services, Master's degree, preferably with a major in counseling, psychology or a related field preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Current valid California Driver's License, fingerprint clearance, and negative TB

Documents required: application, letter of interest describing your reasons for applying, resume, copy of credentials, copy of transcripts, three current professional letters of reference in previously held positions.
