Classified Position: Resource Specialist Program Assistant (Special Education) Open Position for the 2019-2020 School Year Job Description The RSP Assistant will work collaboratively with certificated teachers and assist in the implementation of the individualized educational programs for student with disabilities in resource and general education settings. . Schedule and Salary • 29 hours per week. • 8:30 am – 3 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 8:30 am – 2 pm Wednesday. • Hourly Rate: $18.76 – 19.42. There are benefits for this full-time position when permanent. Minimum Requirements • AA degree or equivalent, or successful completion of county proficiency exam. • Offer of employment contingent upon successful screening of fingerprints and a negative tuberculosis assessment. Desired Qualifications and Skills • Positive attitude, and enjoy working with children as part of a team of educators. • Desire to support special needs student academically and behaviorally while encouraging independence. The RSP Assistant will oversee the behavior of special education student and students interacting with special education students during recess and student lunch.
