The Archer School for Girls is seeking a skilled and experienced 7th Grade History teacher for a long-term maternity substitute position beginning in early April and lasting through early June 2019.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching 5 classes, serving as an advisor, and participating in co-curricular school activities. A desire to collaborate with colleagues and a commitment to encouraging the potential in every student is essential. Proficiency with technology is a must.

The Archer School for Girls is an educational community that supports and challenges young women to discover their passions and realize their true potential. Serving 500 girls in grades 6-12, Archer’s joyful and ambitious learning environment is founded on the research about how girls learn best. The 7th grade history course, Bringing the Distant Near, explores the Medieval to early modern world with a focus on systems of belief, trade, culture, and government. The interdisciplinary curriculum is fully integrated with 7th grade English, allowing students to reinforce their skills and knowledge across both courses.

We are looking for a long-term substitute who will contribute to our culture of excellence in teaching and learning. Beyond competitive pay, Archer faculty enjoy working in a collegial, diverse, and inclusive community with a mission that empowers girls to realize their potential.
