ABOUT THE JOB: Persons in these positions will work 8 hours per day during school session. Under the general supervision of a certificated supervisor, serves in a lead capacity within the clinic, classroom, community or home environment; coordinates student caseloads, assists supervisors with organizational and procedural issues, and provides training to the Intensive Behavioral Intervention Assistants, utilizing independent judgment within predetermined guidelines; and performs related duties as assigned.
BASIC FUNCTION: Supervises students in a clinic, community or home setting; evaluates student progress to determine mastery of skills; assists IBI assistants in development and reinforcement of intensive behavioral instruction, providing demonstration and instruction through modeling and/or shadowing; collaborates with teachers and program supervisors in creating behavioral programming, Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, present levels, and reinforcement strategies; attends IEP and/or clinic meetings to provide input regarding student progress, proposed services, and proposed goals; creates IEP, supervision, and consultation notes; inputs student progress, proposed services, and proposed goals into the student information system; assists instructional personnel and parents with behavior management of students; schedules activities, prepares reports, records, graphs, or otherwise displays student performance data; extrapolates data from various sources to prepare periodic reports; leads and provides training and support for Intensive Behavioral Intervention Assistants on data collection, Individual Intervention Plans, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP); and assists in creating learning materials.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent and an associate’s degree; and two years of full-time equivalent professional experience in working with students with autism and/or intensive behavior disorders. Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree is desirable. Part-time work experience will be considered and adjusted appropriately. Any other combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered. You are required to bring a copy of your high school diploma or GED at the time of the multiple choice test.
Licenses and Certificates: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver License and remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate. Some positions may require obtaining and maintaining First Aid and CPR certificates.
A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING….
Knowledge of: Behavior supports and strategies for working with students with special needs; Intensive Behavioral methods and techniques, including Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) principles and Discrete Trail Training (DTT); effective training practices and principles; correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; data collection and report preparation techniques; personal hygiene practices and related health and safety regulations; and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
Ability to: Lead, train and provide leadership to other staff members; provide one-on-one Intensive Behavioral Intervention to students, including Discrete Trial Training; work independently with little direction and complete tasks in a timely manner; perform routine clerical tasks and operate basic office equipment; maintain accurate records; utilize software to extrapolate data and prepare reports; demonstrate a patient, receptive and understanding attitude toward students; determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines and use good judgment in making independent decisions; interact successfully with parents, students, supervisors, school staff, and community agency representatives; visit multiple work sites on short notice; and interpret Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
