Requirements / Qualifications
(Was posted as "seniority" from 4/9/18 - 4/19/18, and is now reopened) -Valid California Teaching Credential- Child Development Instructional Permit and/or Child Development Site Supervisor Permit (at least 24 semester CD units); -Desired–Bilingual: Cantonese, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese. -Bachelor Degree preferable in related fields. -Knowledge and experience in implementing Preschool Learning Foundations, Preschool Curriculum Framework, and Developmentally Appropriate Practice. -Knowledge in Emergent and Project Approach Curriculum. -Know how to do child observation, documentation, creativity, brainstorming, flexibility and patience. -Create a developmentally appropriate environment, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and prepare these children for Kindergarten through play. -Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience in a center-based early childhood development program. -Knowledge of state child development and licensing guidelines pertaining to the Children's Center program. -Assist in general operation of the Center and assumes responsibility for the Center. Duties/Responsibilities: - Meeting with Director/Principal regularly to maintain communication channels; - Assisting in assessing center needs, determining objectives, and planning program activities; - Coordinates staff duties and responsibilities under direction of Director/Principal; - Communicating effectively with students, parents, staff and community; - Maintaining professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by the District and/or self-selected professional group activities; - Assisting in insuring compliance with District policies and procedures, as well as with State Child Development Division and Dept. of Social Services requirements, ie: ratios, PQR, Coordinate Compliance Review, and licensing.
