REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience:
- Any combination equivalent to one year of experience in food service activities
- Courses in food service preparation, sanitation, and safety are desirable
- Knowledge of Federal guidelines for nutrition
- Completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read, write, verbally communicate at the level required to perform the duties of the job safely and successfully
- Abilities:
- To work effectively with Food Service Worker II
- Organize and coordinate supplies
- Communicate food guidelines with students
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Work independently
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set out cleaning supplies, garbage/recycling cans, milk buckets
- Help stock salad bar repeatedly through lunch period
- Ensure students are meeting federal guidelines for food offerings as they exit lunch line
- Supervise trash/recycling at end of grades K-2 lunch and assist with clean-up of lunchroom as needed
- Supervise Green Team and end of grades 3-5 lunch and assist with clean-up of lunchroom as needed
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL EFFORT/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Indoor work in the school kitchen
- Perform light to moderate work while setting up food display, carrying food products
- Tasks include lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally, stooping, bending, noise, odors, and lifting
