DUTIES: Under general supervision, provide LVN-level nursing services and a variety of specialized healthcare services for students who are health impaired and/or have specialized health care needs, to administer first aid to students, to maintain health service information and records. Assists with the planning and preparation of materials for in-service education of all District health staff, assists in conducting mandated screening; supervises the maintenance of student health records, medication protocols and emergency cards at school sites; inventory health office supplies; performs a variety of specialized health care services such as catheterization, oral suctioning and gastrostomy tube feedings for physically handicapped students. QUALIFICATIONS: ? Minimum Qualifications Required: Possession of a California Licensed Vocational Nurse License; experience in a school related setting; strong organizational skills. ? Knowledge of: Appropriate health practices as applied in a comprehensive school setting. ? Ability to: Understand and implement district health procedures. ? Fingerprints and TB tests are required upon initial employment. ? Desirable: Bilingual. Two years of experience in a school related setting.
