Bonus is a one time "off-schedule" stipend for New Classified employees. First $500 paid after second supplemental pay period of working month, remaining $500 paid at end of school year.

LEAD FOOD SERVICE WORKER BASIC FUNCTION: To assign, direct, monitor, and participate in the activities and operations of a semi-automated food packaging production line; to receive daily food orders from schools; and to ensure the proper count and daily delivery of ordered foods. Employees in this classification receive limited supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. Employees in this job class assign, direct, and monitor the work of others in a lead capacity. Employees in this job class are responsible for the accurate and proper packing, loading and delivery of school lunches within established timelines. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This is an advanced journey/lead level classification. Employees allocated to this job class have lead supervisory responsibility over assigned food service staff. This job class ensures the smooth flow of food packing on semi-automated production lines as well as the accurate and timely delivery of meals to middle, elementary, and contract schools. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: 1. Assigns, directs, monitors, and participates in the packing of food using semi-automated machinery including a denesting machine, heat sealer, and conveyor belt. 2. Oversees proper count, loading, and delivery of lunches to appropriate schools. 3. Coordinates and assists in loading food and racks into and out of transport vans. 4. Keeps food supplies filled for workers on production line; feeds denesting machine. 5. Maintains count on food used for lunch pack to assure proper amount is being used; calculates serving portions and adjusts as necessary to generate desired number of lunches. 6. Maintains daily records on lunches delivered to school sites and servings per case of food. 7. Orders lunch components to assemble on line including food and packing materials. 8. Ensure correct delivery of ordered food on a daily basis to school sites. 9. Accurately count, make change, and perform mathematical calculations using basic arithmetic. 10. Oversee the accurate maintenance of records related to food delivery operations. 11. Meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties such as heavy lifting of food and related equipment. 12. Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: POSSESSION OF: A valid and appropriate California Driver’s License, including a safe driving record. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to sufficient experience, training, and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. WORKING CONDITIONS: Transport kitchen environment involving production line assembly work subject to heat, noise, and heavy lifting of food and related equipment. Driving a delivery van subject to driving in traffic and in all types of weather conditions.
