Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is a regional provider of Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education. As the largest organization of its kind in Santa Clara County, we are dedicated to offering career-oriented education to both high school and adult students. Annually, MetroED provides 2,600 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income-earning, and tax-paying contributors to Silicon Valley. MetroED collaborates with designated districts to provide comprehensive educational opportunities for adults and high school students. Through our Silicon Valley Career Technical Education program, we offer career technical education to high school students and, on a space-available basis, to adult students in the following districts: Campbell Union High School District, East Side Union High School District, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District, Milpitas Unified School District, San Jose Unified School District, and Santa Clara Unified School District. Additionally, our Silicon Valley Adult Education provides courses for the San Jose Unified School District.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Superintendent or Designee, the Principal promotes a school culture which sets high expectations and standards for adult education and career/technical programs, students, academic learning and the social development of all students; articulates and implements a clear vision for SVAE for all students and staff. Provides leadership to the staff in the administration of SVAE programs consistent with the mission and goals of the Metropolitan Education District (MetroED). The Principal will be working with and collaborating with other adult schools and community colleges as prescribed in the Adult Education Block Grant (AEBG). MetroED is a member of the South Bay Consortium for Adult Education which includes four colleges and five adult schools in Santa Clara County.

• California Administrative Services Credential and/or Supervision & Coordination Credential • Bachelors’ degree (Masters Degree preferred) with a major in education, administration or related field • California Teaching Credential and/or Adult Education Credential
