Requirements / Qualifications

Position requires providing "complex technical" support and the performance of "technical support functions" relative to multiple HR processes. as well as a strong background in working with spreadsheets and databases. Applicants should therefore have proficiency with technical and software tools that support school districts in the areas of HR and also other school district areas (e.g. capturing data through forms, routing data between people and departments using forms/digitally, and a strong vision of how systems of support can be created using technology for HR and between HR and other departments). Experience with FileMaker Pro or similar database software and a high level of proficiency with advanced functions of Excel highly preferred. Education, Training and Experience: • Education and/or training in business or public administration. • Increasingly responsible administrative assistant experience. • Training and/or experience in employee contract negotiations. • Experience in supervision of clerical employees in a public Human Resources office highly desirable. Knowledge and Skills: • Skill in explaining district, departmental and contractual policies and procedures to employees and the public. • Skill in expressing oneself clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing. • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and material with discretion. • Skill in dealing tactfully and effectively in person and on the telephone. • Skill in working independently without specific instructions. • Skill in composing letters, memoranda and preparing minutes of meetings and following complex oral and written instructions. • Skill in operating a computer, spread sheet and data base programs. • Ability to be available for no-notice overtime as required.
