The Social Work Specialist will work in collaboration with principals and other district administrators, MDUSD Foster Youth Services, and the MDUSD Homeless Outreach Program for Education, Student Services and Special Education Departments, district support staff, university graduate school social work (MSW) programs, Public Health Dept., Children’s Mental Health, Juvenile Probation, and community-based organizations. The Social Work Specialist will supervise Social Work Interns and provide direct school social work services for students and families that will reduce barriers to educational success and create positive learning environments for students. Bilingual Spanish is desirable, but not required.
