POSITION: Under direction of a district administrator, performs high level secretarial and clerical support requiring initiative and independent judgment in accordance with established procedures; and performs related work as required. REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must possess the knowledge and skills required for successful job performance as follows: TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: •Increasingly responsible experience in performing high-level clerical or office management duties, including progressively responsible secretarial duties; or an equivalent combination of training and experience KNOWLEDGE OF: •Office management and secretarial procedures and practices •English, grammar, punctuation and spelling •The principles and practices of bookkeeping •Policies, laws and regulative procedures •District organization and operations SKILL IN: •Working independently •Handling confidential material with discretion •Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships •Taking notes and minutes quickly and accurately ABILITY TO: •Operate a computer and related software *SEE JOB DESCRIPTION* LICENSES: •A valid California Driver's License NOTICE: Following successful testing, a competitive screening process will be used to determine who will be invited to the interview portion of the examination. The following will be taken into consideration as part of the screening process: test results, application, resume, and letters of recommendation. Typing certificate for 35 net wpm, within the six months, will be accepted or applicants may take timed typing test at exam. If submitting a certificate, it must be submitted with application by final filing date (online typing certificates will not be accepted). Calculators may be used on the examination but will not be provided. Computers will be used for computer typing exercises.
