Requirements / Qualifications

POSITION: Under general supervision, performs skilled work in the repair and servicing of a variety of electronic, communications and lighting equipment in district schools; and performs related work as required. Example of Duties: • Assembles, installs, repairs and services equipment such as radios, television receivers and antennas, public address systems, tape recorders, motion picture projectors and a variety of audiovisual training equipment • Repairs and adjusts master clock and fire alarm systems • Repairs parts and recorders as needed • Designs parts and reorders as needed • Sets up and operates loud speaker and lighting systems at special events • Assists in general electrical maintenance work and installation of wiring systems • Tests electronic equipment • May train helpers and assistants

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Training and Experience: A combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of formal training in general electronics work; three years of experience in electronic maintenance. Knowledge of: •The tools, equipment and methods of repairing electronic communications equipment •The construction, assembly, repair and operation of radio and television receivers Skill in: •Maintaining and establishing effective working relationships with others •Keeping records and preparing reports Licenses and Certificates: •A valid California driver’s license
