Modesto City Schools is a Pre-K through 12th grade district, serving approximately 30,000 students. The District is one of the largest employers in Stanislaus County, with over 3,200 employees. It is divided into three divisions: Business Services, Educational Services and Human Resources. An Associate Superintendent oversees each division and a variety of programs, such as Child Development, Child Welfare & Attendance, Special Education, Nutrition Services and Transportation. Completed Basic Bus Driver Education Course (20 classroom hours) recommended by the State Department of Education; Successful completion of the twenty (20) hour behind-the-wheel Basic Bus Driver Education Course recommended by the State Department of Education; Graduation from high school or General Education Development (GED) Certificate or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) Certificate; Valid California Commercial Driver's License - Class B w/ Air Brake Certificate; Valid medical examiner's certificate issued in accordance with the motor carrier safety regulations of the DMV; School Bus Driver's Certificate issued by the DMV; Standard Red Cross First Aid Certificate or pass a First Aid exam administered by the CHP; Must provide a DMV printout within (5) work days of offer of employment; Be insurable and maintain insurability at regular and normal premium rates with the District's insurance carrier.
