Job Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to PAUSD’s Bond Manager, the Director, Facilities and Construction assists in building planning and coordination constructability review, and building inspection activities relating to construction, remodeling, and restructuring of facilities within the District. Specific Duties Include: ? Assures compliance with the Division of the State Architect specifications and requirements; ? Assists in the development and evaluation of construction plans; ? Makes recommendations for architectural services, maintains contact with technical consultants and specialists on problems related to design and construction; ? Utilizes project management systems, practices, methods and techniques to evaluate progress relative to plans; ? Provides supervision of work pertaining to plans, specification and bid documents as assigned; ? Works with the Architecture Program; ? Develops and maintains relationships with administration, principals, and staff to evaluate and communicate special facilities needs related to education programs. ? Develops and implements plans to mitigate the impact of construction and construction sequencing on educational programs by working collaboratively with the project consultants and contractors. ? Responds to all community inquiries. ? Coordinate classroom moves with staff and moving contractors. ? Works with leadership in Facilities and Maintenance, Operations and Transportation as needed. Essential Skills Include the Ability to: ? Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with architects, subcontractors, contractors, site administrators, and staff. ? Read and interpret construction documents. ? Evaluate construction schedules to assure that construction is accomplished efficiently in relation to educational needs. ?
