RESPONSIBILITIES Provide a wide variety of administrative support duties to an Assistant Superintendent. Responsibilities will include a broad range of secretarial and administrative functions commensurate with the designated administrator’s role. Perform complex tasks and assume responsibilities using initiative, problem-solving skills and independent judgment, including the interpretation and application of established District policies and procedures; and to perform related duties as required. Demands of the position require flexibility and the ability to work overtime as required. Specific duties include: • Exercise independent judgment in relieving the Assistant Superintendent of task not requiring the immediate attention of the administrator; • Assist in the coordination and processing of administrative functions for the Assistant Superintendent; • Information source regarding department policies, procedures and requirements; • Receive and interview callers, providing information where judgment, knowledge and interpretation of established policies and procedures are required; • Attend meetings, takes minutes as required; • Receive, handle and process confidential information ensuring security and strict rules of confidentiality; • Prepares and produces checks, compiles, distributes, and records a variety of data/information; • Compose correspondence on own initiative or as directed; • Maintain and monitor budgetary records, orders supplies and processes purchase orders; • Manages calendar, prepares for meetings and maintains accurate calendar of events as they relate to programs and services to ensure activities occur as necessary; • Perform special assignments and related duties as assigned. Essential Skills include the ability to: • Multi-task and utilize independent initiative; • Organize and maintain financial, statistical and narrative records; • Use good judgment in a variety of procedural situations requiring diplomacy, friendline
