Job Summary

Under limited supervision, to assist and/or individually perform skilled maintenance, construction, and repair work of District buildings, grounds, and equipment; specifically, the repair and alteration of locks, locking systems and security devices. And to perform other maintenance work as required consistent with the job description.

* High school diploma or GED * Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver's License *Three years experience at the journeyman level within the trade or any combination of training and experience which would equal the required levels of knowledge and skill *Methods, procedures, equipment, and materials used in the installation, maintenance, repair and adjustment of locks and related components, including access and control systems. *Building codes related to the locksmith trade, including those pertaining to fire exit hardware, door hardware and ADA regulations. *Successful experience demonstrating tact, courtesy, positive attitude and maintaining cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work *Ability to perform heavy manual labor *Advanced skill in the operation of hand and shop tools and powered equipment common to the trade *Ability to perform basic computer operation
