EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. • Must have an AA degree or higher or at least 48 semester units of General Education or pass an Assessment Test. • One year of experience working with children in an organized setting; preferably in a Special Education setting • Completion of specialized training in the area of instructional services, psychology or guidance is highly desirable. REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • One year experience observing and collecting student behavioral charting data preferred. • Copy of valid Class C California Driver’s License. • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid and CPR certificate. • Knowledge of general concepts of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics. • Knowledge of strategies used in controlling and motivating students with behavioral, motivational and social disorders. • Knowledge of Individualized Educational Program (IEP) goals and objectives for specific education students. • Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students. • Ability to prepare clear, accurate and concise records and reports. • Ability to work a flexible work schedule. • May work with aggressive behavior of students and emergency situations and may be exposed to blood or other bodily fluids. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
