OVERVIEW: Palo Alto Unified School District seeks a Coordinator of Student and Family Engagement with a demonstrated passion for working with underrepresented student populations and helping them achieve success in the school environment. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Equity and Strategic Initiatives, the Coordinator of Student and Family Engagement is responsible for providing individualized support to historically underrepresented students and their families. The successful candidate will be a collaborative partner to internal and external stakeholders and assist in establishing best practices related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Display a broad-based knowledge of diverse populations with an emphasis on multicultural, underrepresented, and underserved populations of ethnic and racial cultures. The individual assuming the role must be aligned with the vision of equity and inclusion in this district, must be able to articulate that vision to all stakeholders (students, parents, staff/administration, etc.) and must have and be able to use the means or resources to disrupt factors that prevent all students from excelling. The Coordinator, Student and Family Engagement will assist the Assistant Superintendent of Equity and Strategic Initiatives in monitoring student outcomes by race/ethnicity and SES at site-and district-levels, and address experiences of interpersonal bias with respect and attentiveness. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to the following) • Engage and support identified students in reaching academic and school success through a variety of programs and activities. • Assist students, individually and/or in groups, regarding courses, school work, graduation, school completion, behaviors, attendance, and other academic/social/emotional barriers that may interfere with school success. • Implement activities and support strategies to enhance college-going pathways for HUR student
