Galt Joint Union High School District Job Description JOB TITLE: Information Systems Technician DESCRIPTION: Under the general supervision of the Director III - Technology, the Information Systems Technician is responsible for providing district-wide technology support. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to): 1. Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair PC and MAC computers including laptops. 2. Install, maintain and repair printers, scanners, projectors and other devices. 3. Supervise students assisting the Technology Department. 4. Assist with maintenance of telecommunications including phones, voice mail and other communication systems. 5. Assist with the maintenance of LAN \ WAN and Wireless Networks. 6. Setup and maintain new classroom computer labs with Network and Internet access. 7. Support Windows, Microsoft Office and other educational software applications. 8. Install, evaluate and support new and existing Academic and Educational software. 9. Provide staff development for teachers and administrators using technology. 10. Manage Active Directory, Domain Users, Groups and Desktop Security Policies. 11. Maintain technology equipment inventory. 12. Work with the Technology Committee to assist with evaluating current technology and planning for future technology needs. 13. Perform other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, and Experience: 1. Equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade 2. Two years College Computer Science or Mathematics desired 3. Two years experience as Computer Technician with Network Administration desired Skill and Ability to: 1. Maintain confidential information. 2. Demonstrate a self-motivated attitude requiring minimal supervision. 3. Exercise effective written and oral communication. 4. Work cooperatively with various levels of staff to achieve District goals and objectives. JOB PROFILE: 8 hours per day, 261 days per year SALARY: Galt Federation of Certificated and Classified Employees, Classified Salary Schedule, Step 13 Employment Requirements: Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice. Skin test or chest x-ray for tuberculosis is required every four years. Physical examination by a District selected physician may be required upon employment.
