Job Summary:

 

Under direction, performs a variety of technical and specialized duties related to data processing, record-keeping and attendance accounting ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of all materials and information.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Assists administrators, counselors, law enforcement, security, parents, teachers, students and other school personnel for the purpose of providing support and backup for their assignments and coordinating activities.

 

  • Attends  a variety of meetings (e.g. Pentamation Task Force, counseling department, master schedule planning, etc.) for the purpose of decision making and conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

 

  • Composes materials and documents (e.g. letters, memos,  correspondence, enrollment projections, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public, etc.

 

  • Evaluates situations involving student data for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel.

 

  • Maintains files and records (e.g. Student Management System, independent study, attendance, testing results, summer school, various county programs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and availability of required information and compliance with all federal, state and county regulations.

 

  • Monitors assigned activities (e.g. student registration, enrollment, scheduling, course requests, report cards, transcripts, emergency cards, absence verification, etc.) for the purpose of  ensuring efficient and effective operation of the Student Management System and compliance with applicable legal requirements.

 

  • Processes reports (e.g. student schedules and information, attendance records, class lists, scantron sheets, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating to appropriate parties; ensuring availability and accuracy of required information and compliance with legal requirements.

 

  • Performs special projects (e.g. CBEDS, Carl Perkins Grant, STAR System assessments, enrollment projections, etc.) preparing associated reports on behalf of the school site administration for the purpose of providing relief in support of administrative tasks.

 

  • Responds to inquiries from administrators, staff, students, parents, and the general public for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required.

 

  • Researches and reviews regulations (e.g. board policies, testing requirements, state education code, etc.) for the purpose of verifying accuracy of data processing and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

 

 

Other Job Functions:

 

  • Assists other district and site personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

 

  • Handles small student/staff funds for the purpose of recording and reconciling expenses and revenue.

 

  • Monitors security radios,  switchboard  and health office as may be required for the purpose of providing assistance and support.

 

 

Essential Job Requirements - Qualifications:

 

  • Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to utilize pertinent software applications. Ability to perform standard clerical procedures. Ability to perform standard bookkeeping/accounting procedures. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.

 

  • Physical Requirements:  The Office of Classified Personnel Services embraces the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  The requirements of the position are maintained in the Personnel Department; and, individuals shall be able to perform the essential functions of the position.

 

  • Education Required: High School graduate or equivalent and three (3) years computer data processing experience.

 

  • Licenses, Certifications and Testing Required:
    • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate within 90 days after initiation of employment.
    • Fingerprint/criminal justice clearance.
    • Tuberculosis clearance.
    • Written examination.
    • Typing examination at 55 net words per minute from clear copy.
