SALARY & BENEFITS: $4,065 - $4,919 per month. The maximum entry level is $4,474. Sick leave accrued from another California K-14 public educational agency in the State of California may be transferred to the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office. Fourteen holidays are observed as paid days each fiscal year. Generous vacation and sick leave benefits are provided. Employees of this office are not covered by Social Security, but do have mandatory retirement coverage with California Public Employees Retirement Systems (CalPERS). Candidates achieving a rating of 70% or better will qualify to continue in the eligibility screening process. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and possession of a valid California Moto Vehicle operator’s license which must be maintained for the duration of the assignment. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
