Requirements / Qualifications
Required Experience must be in a public school setting: • Five years of successful full-time public school district certificated service • A minimum of three years of experience as a teacher • A minimum of two years of experience must include 100 hours of part-time or 65 days of full-time, adult education and/or career technical education experience per year, including one year as an adult education classroom teacher • In lieu of two semesters of such service, service in a position for which an administration, supervision or counseling credential would be required in California may be substituted • Must be available to work evenings both days and evenings and travel to other school sites Minimum Requirements include: All minimum requirements must be met on or before the filing deadline. AFOC offers the following programs: High School Diploma, Adult Independent Studies (AIS), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) Preparation courses, Adult Basic Education courses and short-term career technical training. The Ideal Candidate will have experience and knowledge of adult education and career preparation, curriculum, career and educational assessments for adults; knowledge of District and Division strategic plans, procedures, and negotiated contracts; commitment to DACE initiatives and instructional objectives; knowledge of community and educational career resources; the ability to facilitate group processes, including consensus building and resolution conflict; the ability to plan, organize, supervise and evaluate; the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and knowledge of funding for adult programs.
