DETERMINES MECHANICAL DEFECTS ON SCHOOL BUSES, TRUCKS, VANS, AUTOMOBILES, AND OTHER MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT, AND MAKES NECESSARY REPAIRS, SUCH AS OVERHAULS, TUNE-UPS, ADJUSTING AND REPAIRING TRANSMISSIONS, REPLACING AND ADJUSTING BEARINGS, ADJUSTING IGNITIONS AND CARBURETORS, AND RELINING AND ADJUSTING BRAKES; REPAIRS SUSPENSION SYSTEMS; MAKES EMERGENCY ROAD CALLS; KEEPS SIMPLE RECORDS; MAKES BODY AND FENDER REPAIRS, CHANGES AND REPAIRS TIRES.
GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRINCIPLES OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES; THE METHODS, TOOLS, MATERIAL, AND EQUIPMENT USED IN THE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT. THE PROVISION OF THE CALIFORNIA MOTOR VEHICLE CODE APPLICABLE TO THE OPERATION OF VEHICLES IN THE TRANSPORTATION OF SCHOOL CHILDREN.
