POSITION: Intervention Assistant (10 Positions)
REPORTS TO: Administrator
EVALUATED BY: Administrator
WORK YEAR: 180 Workdays/ 4.25 - 6.0 hours
SALARY RANGE: $13.37 per hour
SUMMARY:
Works directly with an assigned classroom teacher(s) to implement the school intervention program.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists students on an individual basis or in small groups with the instructional program.
2. Assists teacher(s) in organizing intervention materials.
3. Assists with staff on the use of data, small group instruction, and targeted intervention with focus groups of students.
4. Assists with staff on student data to determine student instructional groupings and monitors student progress.
5. Attends professional development.
6. Ability to use positive reinforcement strategies with students.
7. Collaborates with teachers and administration with the planning and implementing of intervention programs.
8. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possess High school diploma or equivalent
• Possess at least 48 semester units of university coursework
• Must be continuously enrolled in an accredited college/university at the time of hire
• Have a passing score of 70% on the District academic proficiency test
• Must be available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Bilingual-biliterate English/Spanish highly desirable
• Experience working with students in a school or recreational setting desirable
• Experience working with students in an intervention setting desirable
