POSITION: Clerk (Full-time)
REPORTS TO: Chief Personnel Officer
EVALUATED BY: Chief Personnel Officer
WORK YEAR: 211 Workdays/11 months
SALARY RANGE: (14) $3,035 - $3,700
SUMMARY:
Performs general clerical duties including telephone, record keeping, spreadsheets, and
maintains miscellaneous office files.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answers telephone, giving information on routine questions.
- Posts information to records and fills in forms.
- Sorts and files documents and records according to predetermined classifications.
- Performs light typing and computer applications
- Performs simple arithmetical calculations.
- Checks records and papers for clerical accuracy and completeness.
- Receives, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
- Make appointments.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Type a minimum 35 words per minute
• Have a passing score of 70% on the District academic proficiency test
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Bilingual-biliterate English/Spanish highly desirable
• Experience in related work or courses in office practice desirable
• Computer student data input experience desirable
