Marriage and Family Therapist Intern
The MFT Intern will, under the direct supervision of a licensed Mental Health Therapist, provide ERMHS support of the identified mental health and behavioral needs of students; through the specific behavioral goals and objectives developed for implementation within each student’s individual education plan, or IEP.
Essential Functions:
Provide direct educationally related mental health services for SBUSD students including counseling (individual, group, and family).
Maintain accurate service records and ethically required paperwork.
Manage psychiatric emergencies as appropriate.
Conduct interviews and observations.
Contribute to, and participate in, assessments and meetings.
Consult and collaborate in the development, by the IEP Team, of individual behavioral goals and objectives.
Communicate, consult, and collaborate as appropriate with parents, teachers, and school site administrators.
Make recommendations to the local education agency, or LEA, in regards to individual student mental health needs and services, as well as referrals to other public/private community agencies when appropriate.
