Approximately 95% of graduating seniors enroll in post-secondary schools, with students attending their best fit colleges and universities across the nation. All of our schools have been named National Blue Ribbon schools, with Palm Crest and Paradise Canyon Elementary Schools recognized in 2021. La Cañada High School 7/8 was named a National Forum “School to Watch” school four times, most recently in 2023. All LCUSD schools have been designated as California Distinguished Schools, with its three elementary schools recognized again in 2023.

Application Deadline: 3 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 Brief Description of Position: The High School Counselor assists students with current and future academic goals and provides counseling as needed. Work Year: Full-time position; 10 months, 196 contracted work days. Assignment will commence immediately upon background/fingerprint clearance. The first day of school for students is Monday, August 14, 2017. The last work day for counselors in the 2017-18 school year is June 7, 2018.

Qualifications: 1. Credential: Valid California Pupil Personnel Services credential authorizing school counseling. 2. Education: Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s preferred. 3. Experience: Preferred: Two years or more successful high-school counseling. Classroom teaching experience at the high school level is desirable. Application Procedure: 1. Annual salary range is from $52,130 to $105,680, with salary placement dependent on education and experience.
