•Education: A BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university preferred or the completion of a BA or BS within one year of hire. •Experience: One year experience with children and/or environmental education preferred. The following additional documents must be uploaded via EDJOIN by the filing deadline in order to be considered in the hiring process (pertains to current employees also): •Proof of education (i.e. college transcripts, copy of college diploma) A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1300 17th St., Bakersfield, CA 93301. •The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. If you have any questions please call: (805) 528-5330. •Each candidate’s application papers will be thoroughly evaluated and ranked by a screening committee appointed by the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. Candidates achieving a rating of 70% or better will qualify to continue in the eligibility screening process. Veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of five points to their composite score. A copy of your DD-214 must be submitted at the time of application to receive veteran’s credit. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: A preplacement medical assessment/health screening, at office expense, is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Possess or secure within one month of employment a certificate for first aid and CPR issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent. Obtain a clear certificate of Tuberculosis. Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and possess a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
