Requirements / Qualifications

Rapid Learner students work at grade level and one grade level above in ELA and Math. Experience teaching gifted or accelerated students preferred. Must have prior teaching experience in 5th or 6th grade and knowledge of both grade level’s standards. Deterding is an arts focused school, with visual and performing arts integrated within the daily curriculum. Grade level performances are a component of the Deterding Site Plan and are integrated within the classrooms. Teachers must be willing to collaborate with Grade level and Rapid Learner Staff. Communication with parents is critical and teachers must possess skills to consistently provide information between school, class, and home. Teachers must also be knowledgeable in utilizing and coordinating parent involvement within the classroom. Interested teachers need to be prepared to take part in professional development, training, and collaboration that are specific to our site Strategic Plan and site needs. All Rapid Learner programs include an Outdoor Environmental Program.
