Requirements for Applying: Become an AmeriCorps Member and serve as a Full-time PASS AmeriCorps Mentor! A PASS AmeriCorps Mentor manages a 30-student caseload; enrolling youth identified as at-risk in 29 designated school sites during the school year at San Diego Unified, Oceanside, Vista, Valley Center-Pauma, San Marcos, School Districts. Program goals are designed to engage participating at-risk students in elementary, middle and high school (grades 3-12). We are looking for future professionals who are organized, dependable, mature, self-starters, self-motivators that really want to make a difference in a youth’s life. Must be committed to serve 11 months and available to serve full-time, M-F (8.5+ hours daily), some week nights and weekend days/nights.

Requirements: Applicants must be a minimum of 22 years or older, have a 4-year college degree or higher (proof of transcript required), 1-2 years’ experience working with youth, must own vehicle, valid driver's license and proof of car insurance before beginning employment; Spanish-speaking a plus! Applicants will be required to complete SDCOE and AmeriCorps applications, required signature on AmeriCorps commitment contract, fingerprinting clearance, in-state background check, (including out-of-state background check, if applicable), reference checks, TB testing. Benefits: School Loan Deferment, Education Award of $5,815 upon successful completion of Term of Service; Health Benefits that meet ACA requirements; Monthly Stipend (September to June), ongoing Professional Development, coaching and support, additional trainings; letter of reference; Service is a PLUS on your resume.
