POSITION: Kindergarten Teacher – Longden
SALARY: Appropriate placement on the Teachers’ Salary Schedule
QUALIFICATIONS:
¨ Appropriate California teaching credential and CLAD
¨ Willingness to share work and classroom space
¨ Willingness to assist in all aspects of the kindergarten program
¨ Knowledge of a standards-based system in aligning age-appropriate curriculum
¨ Desirous of establishing an age appropriate literacy and math program for students
¨ Understands and articulates the “whole child” concept with an emphasis on a developmental approach in teaching cognitive skills (concepts of print, rhyming, number & name recognition), social/emotional skills (working independently and self-regulation skills), and physical development (use of scissors, pencil and crayons correctly)
¨ Willingness to be an active participant in a shared decision making team, which includes after school meetings
¨ Willingness to work as a member of a grade level team, share and incorporate team procedures and practices
¨ Aware of current trends in technology and ability to implement technology throughout the curriculum
¨ Willingness to share and articulate between grade levels
¨ Committed to ongoing professional growth and continuing education
¨ Realizes and defines the need for a positive, nurturing and caring environment for all students
¨ Utilizes a firm, fair and consistent plan of classroom discipline
¨ Realizes and affirms the value of parents as partners in the daily lives of students – works to incorporate parent volunteers into the classroom setting
¨ Possesses a high regard for teacher and student accountability
