AVID Excel Summer Bridge is looking for teachers who will help long-term English Language Learners develop their academic language acquisition and increase their access to the 9th grade AVID Elective and college preparatory courses. During AVID Excel Summer Bridge, teachers will support students in building their academic language, leadership skills, and overall sense of commitment to school with a cohort of peers who share their same college readiness goals. They will emphasize developing students’ academic language proficiency in all domains—reading, writing, speaking, and listening—while also developing self-determination, leadership skills, and motivation.
