The purpose of the position of the Principal of St. Vincent de Paul High School is to ensure Christian leadership according to diocesan and local school policies, rules and regulations. Given this faith leadership role, the Principal must be an active Catholic. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Collaborates with the President in implementing the school mission 2. Ensures the development and implementation of an overall learning environment which promotes Catholic faith formation/education, ethical decision-making, social justice and Christian leadership 3. Ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive curriculum program which complies with diocesan and state standards 4. Ensures the supervision, evaluation, and professional development of faculty and support staff 5. Ensures that learning standards are developed and maintained for students 6. Ensures the development of policy and process for student safety and discipline 7. Partners with St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School and participates with other secular and private schools in the community in facilitating joint programs and/or the acquisition of joint supplies with the local school district. 8. Collaborates with the Bishop of Santa Rosa in administering the school; ensures the preparation and submission of all necessary reports to the Diocese of Santa Rosa 9. Participates in continual professional development to maintain a level of professional knowledge and skills required to effectively function as a Catholic School Principal
