We are looking for a dynamic teacher to join our team. This teacher will teach all grade level music. General music classes are weekly for grades K-8, which includes singing, rhythm games, folk dance, choral music, rounds, part singing & amp recorders. Orff or Kodaly music education experience is helpful in teaching a variety of fundamental music skills and in working with a range of grade levels. The teacher will: - Partner with other teachers to prepare progress reports and grades 3 times a year. - Prepare one class (Grades 3-8), to sing music for weekly Catholic mass. Plus, prepare the school choir to sing for Parish/School masses once per month. Work with the Religious Education coordinator to plan appropriate music liturgy for parish masses and sacramental ceremonies throughout the year. - Manage music issue binders, distribute, collect and update on weekly basis; and, choir music binders for incoming and outgoing choir members. - Plan with school and church staff for school-wide community Christmas music program performance. -Schedule, plan and present spring music concert for all grades. - Coordinate and direct after school program(s): 1) School choir learns new and ongoing repertoire to prepare for singing and performing at church and school events. We provide a full curriculum In Common Core standards teaching Religion, Math, Literature/Reading, Writing/Language, Science, Social Studies, Art, Computer, Music, Physical Education and Spanish for all students K-8th grade. In working toward the diocesan goal of preparing students for college and career, we prepare our students well for high school academically, technologically, and in presentation skills. It is important for us to monitor student progress; we do this through regular and formative assessments. Students in 3rd through 8th grades take the national ACT test in the spring as well as Renaissance Place Star Assessments four times during the school year. Students learn through outside classroom activities such as church service, sports, science camp and field trips, student government, and academic contests. Our campus is located in Vallejo, the North Bay. We are a commuting distance from Napa, Oakland, and San Francisco.
