 Bilingual Elementary Classroom Teacher

The Orange County Educational Arts Academy (OCEAA) is a charter school targeting students in grades K-8 who have an interest in attending a school with a commitment to academic excellence and a specialization in dual language, arts and technology. Applicants must be able to conduct lessons entirely in academic Spanish to students who are becoming bi-literate in Spanish and English.

 

JOB SUMMARY

OCEAA classroom teachers are responsible for nurturing life-long learners through high expectations for all in a creative academic environment integrating the arts and technology. The bilingual elementary teacher is able to foster a love of learning across multiple subjects and languages among a diverse student population.

 

Schedule:     Full time position / professional hours

Reports to:   School Director

 

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Within the overarching goal of developing language fluency in Spanish and English, teachers will:

  • Work as a team member who values trust, commitment, accountability and results
  • Plan and deliver high quality instruction aligned with Common Core State Standards, CCSS en Español, Next Generation Science Standards, and other frameworks
  • Use strong instructional methodologies and curriculum resources to build student knowledge in a stimulating and effective manner
  • Continually reflect on practice and participate in on-going professional development and training to improve student learning, as well as integrate feedback to guide personal and professional growth
  • Use a variety of data to plan instruction, communicate results with parents and other team members, and plan for further instruction
  • Integrate technology and the arts into teaching and professional activities
  • Other duties as assigned

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.CA Multiple Subjects Credential with BCLAD

2.First Aid & CPR certification

3.TB clearance

 

SALARY: Based on experience.
