POSITION:                 Speech & Language Pathologist

                                    (2 Positions)                                                                                                                                          

SALARY:                    Appropriate placement on Credentialed Salary Schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possession of a valid California Language and Speech  or Clinical Rehabilitation credential by August 21, 2017

• Experience as a Speech and Language teacher in a public school
• A demonstrated understanding of the growth and development stages of  students with special needs with emphasis on autism / speech and language disability
• Experience with and understanding of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process
• Identifies and provides remedial services in a variety of delivery models for students with impairments of speech and language
• Knowledge of standardized speech and language assessment instruments, their administration and interpretation, language development and phonology, alternative methods of communication, assessment of non-verbal students
• Assists in the coordination of student’s general education program
• Serves as resource person to regular and special education teachers
• Ability to maintain appropriate records, work and communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and public agencies
• Monitors student progress toward communication goals and objectives
• A demonstrated understanding of appropriate curriculum and curriculum modifications for students with special needs in sheltered settings
• Realizes and defines the need for a positive, motivating environment for all students, including English language learners and learning handicapped
• Proof of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training (www.mandatedreporterca.com)
