The Dual Immersion Program will focus on attracting students who will participate in an academically enriched Spanish language development program taught by fluent Spanish speaking elementary teachers, in a dual immersion instruction model. In addition, the successful teacher candidate will: • Be fluent in Spanish reading, writing and speaking • Have an understanding of culture history and Spanish-speaking peoples and countries • Be willing to assist with the planning and development of the dual immersion program beyond the school year to include curriculum development and community outreach • Be willing to collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching and learning • Involve parents and community members in student learning • Have knowledge of early childhood education • Previous Dual Language Immersion experience is preferred

The successful teacher candidate will have a valid California Multiple Subject Credential, will be English Language Learner certified with a BCLAD – Spanish certificate or equivalent at the time of hire. All applicants will be required to take a language and competency exam.
