Requirements / Qualifications

The Baldwin Park Unified School District is seeking a junior high school principal to provide leadership in coordinating and managing all aspects of a school campus by promoting the success of all students by developing, articulating, implementing, and promoting of a vision for learning that is shared and supported by the school community. The principal advocates a nurturing climate by sustaining a positive school culture that encourages relevant instructional programs conducive to student learning and staff professional growth. The principal will ensure effective management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment. The principal will collaborate with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources. The principal will model a personal code of ethics while developing professional leadership capacity. REQUIREMENTS: -Five years of successful teaching experience -Experience as an assistant principal or service in other administrative leadership assignments -Master’s degree, supplemented by advanced coursework or training in the area of school administrative services -Possession of an appropriate California Administrative Services Credential authorizing service as a principal

PREFERENCES: -Secondary administrative experience, in particular middle school/junior high school -Experience with curriculum and instruction -Leadership experience -Experience with several of the following programs: * English Learners * AVID * Special Education * GATE * Educational Technology * PLC * PBIS * RTI -Proficiency in Spanish The following must be submitted with application: -Ed-Join employment application -Letter of intent -Three letters of recent professional references (within one year and must have signatures) -Copy of college coursework transcripts (official transcripts will be required if hired) -Copy of California Administrative Services Credential -Resume
